Abstract:

This review introduced the structural feature of hydroxyapatite(HAP). As is known, the HAP is a good catalyst support material due to its structure stability, strong ion-exchange ability, tunable surface acid-base property and high adsorption ability. As a catalyst support, the HAP can improve the activity and selectivity of the catalyst, and enhance the thermal stability of the active components. The HAP with a magnetic material can be effectively recovered from the reaction mixture in an external magnetic field. The use of natural HAP as a support can achieve the recycling of bone waste. This review also represented the preparation methods of HAP supported catalysts, i.e., impregnation, ion-exchanging and deposition-precipitation.
